About the course
The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) at The University of Manchester, UK, is proud to offer an affordable professional online programme in Global Health, in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), our course has been developed for people working in the humanitarian sector or those wishing to enter this field.
75% of our students studying the online programmes in Global Health are from outside the UK, and we honour our partnership with the IFRC by ensuring course fees are the same for UK and international students.
The course modules cover issues related to:
The worldwide improvement of health
The reduction of disparities
Protection against global threats that disregard national borders.
The course modules are unique in bringing together the study of emergency medicine, disaster management, community health, anthropology and sociology of health and illness in an online format. As such they offer both a practical means of study and an inclusive approach which mirrors the reality of health interventions within a humanitarian context.

The MSc is comprised of three years (180 credits), with each component (year) worth 60 credits.
The PG Certificate is the first stage of the 3-year MSc in Global Health, comprising PG Cert (year 1), PG Dip (year 2), MSc Dissertation (year 3).
